New State Underground Rough In Inspection Requirements

December 27, 2024

Effective as of  1/1/2025:  A rough in inspection will be required on FLEC sweep and slip joint before the service release on all underground services on Fort Loudoun Electric Cooperative system.
Customer or contractor will provide the long sweep 90 with the conduit and slip joint installed to meter base per FLEC rules at correct depth, then a rough in inspection must be requested through Nashville system as normal for that ditch and conduit to be inspected. When rough in inspection on conduit is completed, it will be turned into FLEC for underground to be completed. After FLEC wire and conduit is installed and completely covered then the service release inspection can be requested to be inspected through Nashville system for DEI to perform.
Due to safety concerns and hazards this will be the new procedure as of 1/1/2025.
Any underground services requesting service release before having rough in inspection on conduit and sweep and FLEC secondary done and completely covered will be rejected.
