FLEC is proud to announce one of our Washington Youth Tour participants, Luke Morris, will be competing as the Tennessee representative for the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s Youth Leadership Council. While in Washington, D.C., Morris competed in a speaking contest against 21 other cooperative candidates from across the state. He won this competition and will travel back to Washington, D.C. later this month to join the other 43 state YLC representatives. Morris will compete in January 2026 for the National Youth Leadership Council Spokesperson position.

As the Tennessee YLC representative, Morris will be narrating the WYT resource video used in the 2026 class presentations. He will also be addressing cooperative directors and staff at other statewide conferences.

Luke Morris will be a senior this year at Greenback High School. He is the son of Mike and Rebecca Morris of Maryville. Congratulations to Luke on this exceptional achievement! We cannot wait to witness what the future holds for him and will be cheering for him in the national competition.
