New Home Rebates
Any all electric newly constructed home may be eligible for a $200 TVA rebate. The
customer has 1-year from occupancy to apply for the rebate. The check will be mailed
within 6-8 weeks after the inspection.
FLEC’s Mike Davenport must schedule an appointment with the customer to conduct
an inspection of the home to determine whether it is eligible.
He gathers the following types of information:
Square footage, type of windows, amount of glass windows and doors, types of exterior
doors, insulation throughout the home, and HVAC unit efficiency.
After gathering the above information, he enters it into TVA’s software rating system
to determine whether the home meets TVA’s efficiency standards.
The following are examples of TVA’s minimum home standards:
- HERS rating – 93 or lower.
- Attic Insulation – R30 or greater.
- Wall Insulation – R13 or greater.
- Floor Insulation – R19 or greater.
- Windows – U49 or lower rating.
